A rose by any other name would smell as sweet

Welcome all!

I have been in the process of writing my first book, Descended in Blood, for about a month now. I have decided to do all of this under the pen name Angeline Kace. It makes sense to me that if I am going to be well known on the internet (at least this is my hope) then I should do it in a way that those who would do me, and mine, harm would not have such available access to the actual me.

Now onto the important stuff! I have not written very much this past week. However, I have completed some of what I feel is as important as the actual writing; The Blueprint (thanks Susan)! I still have a ways to go with it, but I am pleased with the way things are going, and I fell that completing this process is going to help me produce a book that will turn out one hundred times better than it would have if I had not gone through this process.

I should be able to add a tab soon to include the blurb!

  1. I can understand your hesitancy in using your real name. Last year I had a guy who sent me an email saying he loved my writing and had to meet me. He said he was going to come to my college.

He wasn't asking me. He was telling me!

I was concerned until the end of his letter where he stated he lived in another country. It's too late for me to use a pen name since I have been writing for the public since 2001 but I use social media very carefully and never provide any details so people can track my private life.

  2. I'm using a pen name too and I feel, so far, like it's been a great decision. :-)

    Good luck with your book!!!!

  3. Haha, I saw this post before your last post on the other blog. I'm glad my post encouraged you to use a pen name. ;)

  5. Bakari~ That is scary! Good thing they didn't live in the states! How is your fiction piece coming?

Megg~ Yeah, your pen name rocks! I never realized that it would be so difficult to find something that sounded good, was easy enough, and that I could identify with. Oh, and that wasn't already someone else's real name! That was the tough part. Everything I really liked was already taken!

    Heather~Thanks for your support!!

  6. Angeline,

Yes. It was kind of creepy.

The fiction piece is trailing along. As I find it easier to work on my non-fiction material I have ignored it as of late. The idea won't let go of me though so I know I will return.
